DHL has appointed Herbert Vongpusanachai as General Manager of DHL Express Singapore with effect from Mar 1.

Mr Vongpusanachai, who was previously General Manager of DHL Express Thailand and Managing Director of DHL Express IndoChina Region, succeeds Mr Alec Ang. In his new position, Mr. Vongpusanachai will be responsible for DHL Express' operations in Singapore.

Mr Vongpusanachai joined DHL Express Thailand in 2003 as General Manager. In January 2007, his portfolio expanded when he was appointed Managing Director, Indochina Region. He led the growth of DHL's business in Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar and Thailand, overseeing more than 30 facilities and 30,000 customers. He also played an instrumental role in managing and ensuring the smooth transition of the new DHL Express Bangkok Hub to the Suvarnabhumi International Airport.

Prior to joining DHL Express Thailand, Mr. Vongpusanachai worked with Microsoft Thailand for seven years where he held several senior positions, the most recent being Enterprise & Partner Group Manager.

Mr Vongpusanachai holds an MBA from the School of Management, Asian Institute of Technology, as well as a Bachelor of Computer Science from Mount Union College, Ohio, USA. He is married and has two sons.
