INDIAN businessmen the world over can look forward to a new dawn on Sept 6. A web portal that will connect Indian entrepreneurs, corporate professionals and businessmen is being launched on that day.

The portal, launched by the Global Organisation of People of Inidan Origin (GOPIO), aims to promote the aspirations of young entrepreneurs and encourage interaction between people of Indian origin around the world. It can be accessed at www.globalindianportal. com.

According to Singapore Indian Chamber of Commerce & Industry chairman R. Narayanamohan, a large number of Indian businessmen have registered on the website even before the launch, having heard about it by word of mouth.

"I would like to urge all fellow entrepreneurs to be part of this initiative and all aspiring entrepreneurs to come together and harness benefits from mutual expertise," he said.

Modern Montessori International CEO and chairman T. Chandroo, who will be launching the website at the University Cultural Centre here in Singapore, says he is happy that GOPIO is harnessing the power of the new media.

Dr Chandroo pointed out that, over the last decade, a myriad of post-modern businesses have emerged and this portal will be the perfect place for them to converge.

In addition, it is also an invaluable gateway to a whole world of useful information and a platform for potential partners for future collaborations.

GOPIO Singapore president V.P. Nair is confident that this portal will act as a fulcrum to stimulate small- and large-scale business enterprises, including wholesalers and retailers.

PropNex's Wahida Maricar agrees, saying there is potential for Indian property agents to create awareness of their portfolios via the portal.

Networking will now be only a click away.
