Firms more upbeat about future

FIRMS in both the manufacturing and services sectors are now more upbeat about the future as the economic climate continues to brighten.

Not just electronics manufacturers, but hotels, and catering and financial services are all seeing huge rises in business sentiment in two surveys released on Friday.

In the services sector, which polls 1,400 firms, 28 per cent of firms now expect business to pick up in the next six months. This was up from 21 per cent polled in July this year.
