MAYBANK Singapore has launched home-loan packages offering fixed, variable and Sibor-pegged rates, with some of them having first year rates that go below 1 per cent per annum.
Popular with customers who want certainty in financing their mortgages, fixed-rate home-loan packages start from as low as 0.88 per cent per annum.
Variable-rate packages come with first-year rates starting from 0.8 per cent per annum, while interbankpegged home loans start from 0.5 percentage point above the three-month Sibor, or Singapore interbank offered rate - the rate at which banks lend to each other.
These packages are part of an ongoing celebration of the bank's 50th anniversary.
Other products and services offered include Pocket Me Giro, a cash incentive given to customers when they pay bills through Giro with the bank; and Privilege Plus Savings Account, a savings product for customers aged 50 years and above.
Said Ms Helen Neo, head of consumer banking at Maybank Singapore: "This is yet another gesture of appreciation for our customers in celebration of our 50th anniversary."
Maybank is Malaysia's largest financial-services group. It has a global network of 1,750 offices in 14 countries, including Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, the Philippines, Britain, Bahrain and the United States.
