The New Paper
SilkAir names new chief executive

SilkAir has named Mr Leslie Thng as its new chief executive with effect from Sept 3.

The regional arm of Singapore Airlines (SIA) said Mr Thng will be taking over from Mr Marvin Tan, who has been chief executive of SilkAir since October 2010.

Mr Tan, 41, will be returning to SIA as acting senior vice-president for cabin crew operations.

Mr Thng, 37, who is currently SIA's vice-president for network planning, joined SilkAir as a board director in April this year. He has been with SIA for more than 13 years.
