10 jobs that didn't exist 10 years ago

SINGAPORE - Every once in a while, we come across a job which makes us go: "I never knew this job existed!"

Technological changes, cultural and behavioural evolution and just plain time has caused new career fields to spring up all the time.

Heard of millennial generational experts? Chief listening officer? These are jobs that didn't exist during your parents' time.

If you are a newbie in the job market, it might be a smart move to stay clear of professions on the decline, and jump into up and coming professions on the rise.

And the fact that they didn't exist a decade ago rules out competition from more seasoned job hunters.

For a young worker, it is also exciting to be part of the first-mover market, and do something uniquely appealing.

Careers in certain sectors are blooming, mostly those with links to technology, environment and healthcare.

Employment trend watchers keep and eye out for sectors which are expected to churn out tons of jobs, but are they lasting, or a just catering to a passing fad?

Taking this into consideration, Forbes has compiled a list of the most promising positions in on-the-rise sectors that were only created in the past decade.
