Remote viewing

On your PC

From your office, you can now simply key in http://yourname.dlink. ddns.com:8888 into the Web browser. (In my case, "yourname" was "testcam".) The browser will automatically connect to the Net camera at home.

On your mobile phone

Try viewing it using the standard Web protocol as above. Note, however, that the limited Internet bandwidth and small screen size makes surveillance a challenge.

Alternatively, view the goings-on over another protocol called RTSP (Real Time Streaming Protocol).

Set up a second port-forward with your camera's IP address and the number 554 (RTSP's default port). This works for both private and public ports.

To view the mobile feeds on your cellphone, key in rtsp://yourname. dlinkddns. com/3gpp into the Web browser.

Although this method worked on the new Acer neoTouch Windows Mobile 6.5 phone using Internet Explorer, it could not load on my HTCHero Google phone. So it is possible this may not work on your phone either.
