How far would you go to snag an award for your blog? It seems a number of Singaporeans are willing to go as far as posting pictures of themselves in their skivvies.
A change in the awards categorization for the second annual Singapore Blog Awards has attracted a new wave of applicants, some of which are not hesitant to bear a little more skin in hopes of an accolade.
Now in its second year, the Singapore Blog Awards now features awards in 10 categories, up from 7 last year.
New categories include best food blog, most unique blog and best lifestyle blog.
After what used to be an award for Best Blog Design was changed to Best Modeling Blog, the category attracted some 50 applications to date.
Entries include several featuring pictures of the female bloggers dressed in skimpy lingerie. There were also entries by male bloggers, who showed of their good looks, or flexed their muscles for the camera and then posted the pictures online.
Netizens can vote for their favourite blogs at the Singapore Blog Awards website (http://singaporeblogawards.omy.sg), or submit their own blogs as entries. The winners will be decided by a combination of points from public voting, and from professional judges.
Both voters and bloggers can win up to $20,000 in prizes, including mobile phones, shopping vouchers and overseas tour packages.
