I REFER to Mr Desmond Chew's letter, 'ISPs should offer no-frills broadband plan' (my paper, Nov 2), and have taken note of his comments on broadband plans.
We would like to share with Mr Chew and all readers that StarHub offers a comprehensive range of home- and mobile- broadband services, in terms of speeds and subscription plans, to meet the needs of different users.
Customers who do not want the bundled premium can subscribe to any of our home-broadband plans, on a six-month basis.
As an alternative to a monthly subscription service for people with less frequent Internet surfing needs, StarHub offers MaxOnline FlexiSurf - the only pay-as-you-surf prepaid residential broadband service available in Singapore.
This service gives users download speeds of up to 8Mbps, and is available at a daily rate of only $2.50 per day, at a minimum of three consecutive days per tran- saction.
Another option would be our MaxMobile Prepaid service, which allows users to pay for mobile-broadband access when they need to surf.
The service offers two speed options - 2Mbps and 7.2Mbps - that allows customers the flexibility to choose from different time-based plans, from as low as $2 for an hour of access.
We would be happy to discuss with Mr Chew how StarHub can meet his Internet- surfing needs. Mr Chew is welcome to call our Subscription Sales Hotline at 1630, or visit any StarHub Shop or Exclusive Partners' outlets.
More information on our broadband plans can be found at StarHub's website: www. starhub.com/broadband
