SALES revenue hit $45 million at last year's Sitex. This year, show organiser SingExhibitions is hoping to top the figure.
Aside from the year-end holiday season, the recovering economy should boost sales and attendance numbers, said its deputy general manager Chandra Nair. Sitex 2009, which is in its 21st year, will cover 20,000 sq m of floor space and offer gizmos from over 500 brands, including from 36 retailers new to the event like MobileOne and Osim.
Over 200 exhibitors will offer items from TVs, printers, digital cameras to navigation tools.
And, in an effort to woo more female shoppers, who make up 35 per cent of previous show attendees, there will be a special lucky dip for women who spend over $200 in a single receipt.
Prizes include a seven-night resort stay for four anywhere in the world.
Would-be travellers can also check out the travel-themed tech promotions, with deals on navigational phones, travel SIM cards, digital cameras and the like.
SITEX 2009 will be held at the Singapore Expo from today till Sunday in Halls 5, 6 and Foyer 2. Admission is free.
