STOMP's army of citizen journalists will now find it a breeze to send their field reports to the website, thanks to its new iPhone app.
The process is all seamless now: Shoot a photo or video with your iPhone, type in your comments and hit the send button.
That's all there is to it for iPhone users.
Previously, Stomp's citizen journalists have to download photos or videos from their camera phone or video cam to their computers, and then go to a browser to upload these visuals send them to Stomp.
Citizen journalism in Singapore will get a definite boost because all you need to do is follow these simple steps: First, download the application for free from the iTunes App Store.
Then, shoot a photo or video, or retrieve one that is already stored in your iPhone, write your story and send your report to Stomp directly from your phone.
Said Chew V Ming, editor of Stomp: "The Stomp app complements the website, offering yet another channel for Stompers to connect, interact and engage with each other."
Other than being able to contribute your stories, you are also able to keep in touch with what's happening in the real Singapore. The iPhone app allows you to read all the stories in Singapore Seen, the hugely popular citizen-journalism section of the award-winning Stomp.
Nothing is more Singaporean than Singapore Seen, where people report the latest trends and issues affecting the public.
There are 19 categories of stories to choose from. You can read about the latest Singaporean pet peeves in What Bugs Me or who in the service industry is cool and who's not in Got Service Or Not?.
If you feel strongly about a story, you can make yourself heard by commenting on it and taking part in robust discussions with fellow Stompers - all by using the iPhone app.
You can also access the huge collection of photos and videos on Singapore Seen with your mobile phone.
