Philips 42PFL7482 42-inch Full HD LCD TV
Price: $799 (usual price: $1,799)
Booth: 8410

You are in luck if a 42-inch HDTV that offers full HD resolution (1,920 x 1,080 pixels) is what you need - and on a budget of less than $800 to boot.

Audio House will be selling the Philips 42PFL7482 42-inch LCD TV for just $799 - about $1,000 less than the usual price. The full HD resolution set, backed by Philips' PixelPlus, means that the screen will be the perfect showcase for your favourite Blu-ray movies. Built-in surround sound smarts, two HDMI ports for easy connection to Blu-ray players and set-top boxes round up this package.

If you want things even bigger, get the Philips 52PFL7432. This 52-inch model - also full HD - is going for $1,899 or about half the usual price of $3,699.

There are no freebies but the hefty discounts should more than compensate for it.

Samsung B6000 LED TV
Show price: TBA*
Booth: 8321

Samsung's B6000 series of full HD LED TVs are eco-friendly. The screens are mercury-free and consume as little as 40 per cent of the energy sucked up by LCD TVs. The slim screen - just about 30mm wide when viewed from the side - can be hung on the wall, just like a painting.

You can connect USB flash memory drives or even MP3 players to this HDTV to browse photos and videos or play your favourite music. Four HDMI ports let you hook it up to devices like a Blu-ray player, HD camcorder, a home theatre speaker system and game console for extended fun. Choose from three screen sizes: 40 inches, 46 inches and 50 inches.

Sony Bravia KDL-40NX800 40-inch HDTV
Show price: TBA*
Booth: 3rd Floor, The Concourse

One of the stars of Sony's next-generation Bravia HDTVs will take centre stage at the IT Show. The Sony NX800 series of full HD TVs will be available in three screen sizes: 40 inches, 52inches and 60 inches.

They are LED-backlit so they are slim and consume less energy than conventional LCD TVs. Additionally, they are Web-enabled via built-in Wi-Fi so you can access anything from YouTube videos to Twitter updates directly from the widgets on-screen. You can also connect USB flash drives to browse videos, photos and even listen to music.

Bargain hunters or those looking for a second set for the bedroom may find the price of the new Sony Bravia KLV-32BX300 (usual price: $649) just right. It has an HD display resolution of 1,366 x 768 pixels.

*TBA : To be announced
