ALTHOUGH fashionably pink, this 1.96kg notebook is middle-of-the-road in performance.
At its core is an AMD Turion X2 Dual Core 2.0 GHz processor coupled with 2GB RAM, making it suitable for the average home user to surf the Internet, e-mail and webchat.
You will find the usual features such as a webcam, built-in DVD burner, three USB ports and a multi-memory card reader.
You can watch a movie on its 13.3-inch screen but it lacks a high-definition multimedia interface (HDMI) for viewing high-definition images.
According to MobileMark 2007, the S1300 scored just 99 performance points and lasted 185 minutes on batteries.
The notebook, with its ATI Radeon Xpress 3100 graphics chipset, did not have enough juice to run the 3Dmark 06 benchtest.
While it takes up the space of an A4-sized paper, I am slightly bothered by the notebook's 36.5mm thickness.
Another gripe is the weak built-in audio speakers.
I had to plug in extra speakers when watching a movie on it.
Final say
This middle-of-the-road, pretty-in-pink notebook is something my daughter would love but not me.
