iPod Nano

By Yeong Ah Seng

iPod Nano
» Price: $228 (8GB); $288(16GB). Available in nine colours.

THE iPod which once reigned supreme among portable music players now has several contenders at its heels.

Apple has brought out yet another revised Nano with even better features. The new Nano shoots video at 30fps and displays it on a larger 2.2-inch screen.

There is a new FM radio with Live Pause and the ability to rewind or fast forward a live broadcast for as long as 15 minutes.

Already available on the Shuffle, Voiceover (which tells you the name of the song and the singer) is now on the Nano's features list.

The new Nano also has enough battery juice to last up to 24 hours on audio playback and five hours on video.

There is no question that the Nano, like most Apple products, is very well designed and looks really good.

However, the competition out there is getting better by the day. What Apple needs to do is to keep innovating and come up with more frequent updates and better pricing to match what competitors offer.

That's the only way the Apple Nano can remain on top of the heap.
