Looking for a diet book?

"Negative calorie diet", "Flat belly diet" and "Sun slim diet". Diet books are bestsellers every year. With interesting title and promising instant results to capture the reader's imagination, people are eager to know the latest fad to lose weight. But soon, the little known secret really boils down to the same thing: Eat less and exercise more.

This is simply the message that T.H.E. A2z conveys and the focal point of the book:

T = Ten glasses of water daily
H - Halve your daily intake of food
E = Exercise - walk 10,000 steps a day
The author asserts that while everyone has different eating habits, the basic elements to staying healthy and fit do not differ much. Water, exercise, fruit and vegetables are a long-term aid in achieving and maintaining healthy weight.

This book gives straightforward advice on choosing a balanced diet lifestyle and the science of nutrition, starting with personal story from the author who was coping with stressful job and health in his late 30's. The busy author is the former Cabinet minister Dr Yeo Ning Hong who uses his pen name "Adrian Yeo".

The pages are interspersed with colourful pictures and special captions highlighting important information from the reading. There is a FAQ section that demystifies the taboo words that dieters avoid such as fat, salt and sugar in nutrition and 12-month daily weight graphs with example to help track the dieting progress.

Adrian Yeo has published several books including "Trig or Treat - An Encyclopaedia of Trigonometric Identity Proofs with Intellectually Challenging Games", "The pleasures of pi,e and other interesting numbers", and "Are you the king or you are the joker? Play math for young children". His books are available at the National Library and other public libraries. Check the availability of the book at: http://catalogue.nlb.gov.sg
