Feed your brain right

In Singapore, about 5.2% of people over the age of 65 suffer from dementia. A study by Alzheimer's Disease International (ADI) estimates that there are 22,000 dementia patients here, and the number is expected to increase by 8.5 times to 187,000 by 2050.

Fortunately, you can make changes to your diet to keep your brain healthy.

According to Alzheimer's Association, a brain-healthy diet is one that essentially promotes good blood flow to the brain, reduces the risk of heart disease and diabetes, and is low in fat and cholesterol. These tips from the US-based organisation may help reduce your risk of developing Alzheimer's disease and other forms of dementia.
