CHILDREN with Influenza A (H1N1) are likely to have a higher fever than adults, according to data released by KK Women's and Children's Hospital, on 70 children in the hospital with the virus.
And about half of all H1N1 patients here are 20 or younger, unlike normal flu, where the majority of victims are usually older, reported the National Scientific Committee on Influenza A (H1N1) 2009 yesterday.
However, it is still too early to tell whether children are more vulnerable to the virus, the committee said.
It also reassured the public that Tamiflu supplies that have had their shelf lives extended are still safe and effective against H1N1.
