He sings for a living - opening his mouth to face his audience - but yet this Taiwanese celebrity hates brushing his teeth.
Bad brushing habits aside, self-described sweet tooth Jam Hsiao also has a mouthful of cavities because of his habit of eating candy, reported Yahoo! Singapore.
The result? A $25,000 dental bill after his manager made him visit the dentist because he was afraid that the singer's cavities would be an eyesore.
At the dentist, Jam had more than five tooth implants done, which cost him $15,000. He also had to undergo a thorough cleansing, washing and filling of his teeth.
The visit to the dentist caused his face to swell - which posed as a minor problem during the filming of his music video the next day. Worried about Jam's swollen face, his manager had to place two ice packs on the singer's checks to alleviate the swelling.
Speaking to reporters who requested for him to blow the saxophone, Jam said: "Blowing like this makes my teeth ache again! I have to visit not only the dentist but also the doctor, I hate visiting the doctor!"
The singer also shared that calcium deficiency was a hereditary trait that ran in his family. He recently brought his parents and siblings to the dentist and spent a total of $50,000 on their dental bills.
