It is widely known, especially in Asia that hot dishes would contribute to losing weight. Furthering this method, Capsiplex is newly introduced to market, a chili-pepper-based weight-loss aid that has Brad Pitt and Jennifer Lopez as their major customers, and gaining popularity in Britain, according to reports.
The pill's main ingredient is capsaicinoids, which is easily found in chilly peppers that is known to stimulate metabolism, burn falb and carbs, and enhance the oxygen rate when working out.
Tests at the University of Oklahoma in 2009 proved that after exercising, those who took the pill could burn calories 12 times more than those who took placebo, Daily Mail reported. With this strongpoint, how could Capsiplex not be applauded as a savor among those who desperately wish to be skinny?
Dr. Carel leRoux, an obesity specialist at the Imperial Weight Center at Imperial College in London says that "There is some pretty strong science behind the theory that chili boosts metabolic rate, which, in turn, burns energy," "We know that chili stimulates receptors in the bowel when you eat a spicy meal. Increased heat means increased energy expenditure, and thus the boost to the metabolic rate." he added.
While the hot chili pepper can be effective in short-term, continued consumption might bring about irritated stomach. However, the makers of Capsiplex said they solved that problem with a coating that withstands strong stomach acids and won't break down until it gets to the upper bowel. Also, since the product contains only "natural" ingredients - caffeine and chili - it does not have side effects, the company says.
However, the maker warns to watch out for fake products that taste sweet, not peppery.
