Diabetes is becoming increasingly common in the Southeast Asian region, thanks in part to changing diet and lifestyle habits. According to a recent study by the International Diabetes Federation, the number of people with diabetes will increase by 72 per cent over the next two decades.

It is estimated that 1 in 11 Singaporeans aged between 18 to 69 has the disease.
