BUKIT Batok has been unable to get its dengue situation under control and remains the worst hit area , with 105 cases in the streets 31, 32, 33 and 34 cluster so far.

Meanwhile, the weekly number of dengue cases is still hovering around the 200-mark - there were a total of 196 dengue cases until Saturday.

This brings the total number of dengue cases here so far this year to 6,928.

From Sunday until 4 pm on Monday, an additional 19 cases were reported.

Dengue is still being actively transmitted in 39 areas. Besides the Bukit Batok streets 31 to 34 cluster, three other areas have 10 or more cases.

These are located at Ang Mo Kio Avenue 4, Pipit Road/Paya Lebar Way/Circuit Road, and Jurong East Street 24.

The National Environment Agency urges the public to remain vigilant and ensure that they are not allowing the Aedes aegypti mosquito, which spreads dengue, to breed in their homes.
