Don't junk your sleep

By Chow Yun Feng

I used to be kept up almost half the night by this errant bedfellow, Technology.

Regardless of how tired I was, I would stay up every night to watch television. Sometimes I would even fall asleep in front of the TV set. Otherwise, it would be my beloved Playstation 3 that captured my attention until 5am - which is when my exasperated mother would scream at me to go to bed.

I did not understand what was so bad about such a lifestyle until I attended "Big Bang in my Bedroom".

Organised by a group of fourth-year students from Nanyang Technological University Wee Kim Wee School of Communication and Information (NTUWKWSCI) as part of their Final Year Project, the event kicked off an awareness campaign called "Simmons Good in Bed" that focuses on junk sleep and its consequences.
