ProFractional-XC

What is ProFractional-XC? How is it different from ProFractional?

ProFractional-XC is Singapore's first sub-ablative facial rejuvenation with resurfacing technology that utilizes the Erbium:Yag laser to treat a 'fraction' of skin at a time - hence the name "ProFractional".

The XC means "with coagulation", which is an addition to the previous model (ProFractional) to help heat the deeper layers of the dermis and therefore help with skin contraction and tightening.

What is it used for?
It is used for acne scars, superficial pigmentation and uneven skintone. It also treats fine lines, loose skin around the eyelids, face, neck, decolletage, corrects skin imperfections and tightens the skin.

How does it work?
ProFractional-XC uses a tiny laser beam to treat thousands of pinpoint areas of the skin (pictured above). Because only a fraction of your skin is directly treated with the laser, the surrounding untreated tissue promotes rapid healing. This wound healing response creates new collagen which adds firmness and resilience to the skin.

How is it performed and how long does it take?
Your skin will be cleaned in the treatment area and a numbing cream will be applied beforehand. A laser handpiece will be positioned gently on the skin. When the laser energy is applied, you will hear a rapid succession of buzzing sounds. The handpiece will be moved around to adjacent locations until the entire treatment area has been covered.

The procedure normally takes 15 to 30 minutes.

How long do the effects last?
As your skin heals in the days following your treatment, you may notice a general tightening effect. However, the true benefit of ProFractional-XC is the collagen remodeling that occurs during the 3-5 months following your treatment.

What are the side effects / complications?
Immediately following the procedure you may experience mild redness and a sensation resembling a very mild sunburn. These will subside within several days following the treatment.

How many sessions are necessary to see initial results? How often must the treatment be performed to maintain the results?
Results can be obtained in just one treatment, though the number of treatments required may vary from patient to patient.

How much does each session cost?
Starting price is $800 for a mild rejuvenation/resurfacing.
