Of all the wacky and ingenious poses that wedding couples can come up with to capture their special day, this photo literally scores the winning goal.

And it won analyst Jimmy Lim, 36, and his wife Yuen Mun, 31, a valuer, an ACER computer worth $1,600, in the just-ended AsiaOne's Special Wedding Moments contest, which attracted more than 200 entries.

The lucky reader who chose the winning photo is reader Ow Choy Lin, who won $200 worth of NYDC vouchers.

The winning picture - No. 65 in our list of favourites - shows the couple in their wedding finery on a soccer field in Serangoon, with Mr Lim in front of a goalpost, his bride wearing a lovely smile and a soccer ball at her feet.

Well, they scored a win - literally, with our readers.

It was Mrs Lim who decided to enter the photo for the AsiaOne Special Wedding Moments contest, after she found out about it on the AsiaOne website.

The couple chose a soccer field as the setting for their wedding photo because of a shared interest in soccer.

Mr Lim said: "We decided to take our wedding pictures in this soccer field, because we both love soccer and used to watch regular matches here. We used to live very close to this field, and were neighbours even though we didn't know it then."

They later met through mutual friends and their passion for the game brought them together.

Said a delighted Mr Lim when told his photo has been voted the best: "I learnt about the contest because I log on to AsiaOne to read the sports news regularly. I told my wife about it, and she chose the photo because she knows I love soccer and I play as well."

Response to the contest exceeded AsiaOne's expectations.

The moments captured in the wedding photos sent in by readers show couples in romantic, quirky poses - one pair of happy newly-weds went roller-blading in a park, another showed off their pet dogs - to candid and off-guard ones.

These moments will no doubt be cherished by the couples when they look back years later.
