WANT to see women stretching and sweating it out? Catch the annual Amore Women's Day Out, from tomorrow to Sunday at Ngee Ann Civic Plaza.
The event, now in its sixth year, will see 5,011 participants - the largest number in its history. Last year's event had over 4,000 participants.
"We are delighted and encouraged to know that the event is a proven hit with women, and that more women are participating in sporting activities," said Ms Christine Lau, 35, Amore's marketing manager.
The main highlight of the event is the annual aerobics challenge, held tomorrow from 2pm to 5pm, and on Sunday from 9.30am to 12.30pm.
The public can also try out activities ranging from rock climbing to in-line skating and Muay Thai. Kids can take part in free sports programmes like kids' golf at the Play Zone.
Also, for the first time, Amore will be presenting a segment called The Power of 2, a dance-workout promotion for mums and their kids.
The workout, says Ms Lau, was designed to motivate mothers to include their kids in their workout regimes. The workout blends fun hip-hop moves with low-impact aerobics.
The winners of the my paper and Singapore Sports Council's Sporty Mum & Child and Sporty Baby & Buddy contests will be announced on Sunday.
Amore Women's Day Out is on this weekend at Ngee Ann Civic Plaza from 9.30am to 8pm tomorrow and until 8.30pm on Sunday. Entry is free. For more details on events, go to www.womensdayout.sg
