Singapore's most glittering event is back this year with up to S$100 million worth of precious stones and and jewels to tempt your tastebuds for the finer things in life. From tomorrow until Nov 2, 2008, there is enough fine jewellery on display to make you forget that Singapore's in the middle of a recession now.
With prominent international jewellers such as Hellmuth, a German jeweller known for its crocodile-inspired textured jewellery; Mouawad, famed for its Victoria's Secret Fantasy Bras and Fabergé - respected jeweller to royalties and high society, there will be plenty of ideas to getting your family's next bejewelled heirloom.
Not to be missed is Mouawad's Fantasy Bra set from its Fantasy Collection during the festival. Valued at US$4.5million (S$6.7million), this bra, panty, hairclip, garter and cuff set is studded with approximately 10,000 diamonds, emeralds, rubies and yellow sapphires totaling over 1,662 carats, which needed over 880 hours of labour to put together.

Poh Heng Jewellery, whose drawing card is the alluring necklace, Gracelle is created with a 4-strand necklace in 348 gleaming pearls, 15.15 carats of rubies, 504 yellow sapphires and 0.2 carat diamond. Another prominent item by Poh Heng is the Ethereal Dews, made with 115.4 of gold, 17.6 carats of diamonds and 3.88 carats of diamonds.
Singapore JewelFest 2008 is held at Ngee Ann City Civic Plaza from Oct 24 - Nov 2, 2008. Admission is free to public from 12pm - 9pm.
