ON her right wrist is a bandage, an athlete's badge of honour for training too much.
But as China's diving queen, Guo Jingjing needs balance while executing those flawless flips from the springboard.
So, on her left wrist, she sports a HK$3,950 ($800) Cartier Love bracelet from her boyfriend Kenneth Fok, the playboy grandson of the late Hong Kong business tycoon Henry Fok.
The 2006 limited edition bracelet is a must-have item for celebrity couples in Hong Kong. Mr Fok sports a matching piece.
Accompanying Jingjing's bracelet is a piece of red string, a good luck charm that Mr Fok had gotten from the renowned Lama Temple in Beijing.
For good measure, she also wears a HK$6,000 Tiffany Paloma Picasso diamond necklace while competing, also from Mr Fok.
He hopes that his 27-year-old sweetheart can have a successful swansong at the Olympics.
The couple will tie the knot in October, reported Hong Kong's Sudden Weekly.
As a sign that he's ready to settle down, Mr Fok had reportedly stopped his partying ways.
Mr Fok and his family were at the National Aquatics Centre last week when Jingjing helped China to a clean sweep of the synchronised diving events.
Prospective mum-in-law Zhu Lingling was seen excitedly snapping photos of Jingjing's glorious swansong. The tai-tai was armed with a professional SLR camera and a bulky zoom lens.
Mrs Zhu kept singing praises of her prospective daughter-in-law. She told Sudden Weekly: 'I'm very satisfied with her.
'She has a very good character.'
When asked if her son had proposed yet, she said with a laugh: 'I can't tell you.
Huge diamond ring
However, a source told Sudden Weekly that Mr Fok had already picked a huge diamond ring and plans to propose to Jingjing during a two-week holiday in Europe after the Olympics.
Mr Fok admitted that he's there to support Jingjing and will also be there for the rest of the week.
When Jingjing won the 3m synchronised diving event as expected, she was reportedly so excited that she admitted that her future in-laws were present.
Jingjing had made headlines when she won the 3m synchronised diving event at Athens 2004.
It was also then that she was often seen with Mr Fok.
A source told Sudden Weekly that Mr Fok will introduce Jingjing to his rich uncles when China's Olympic gold medallists are in Hong Kong at the end of the month.
