Drop off your kids at North East Development Council's (CDC) "In Her Shoes" job fair and shop for a job tomorrow.

Women who have always wanted to join or return to the workforce, but are held back because of their family commitments will be glad to know about North East Community CDC's first ever job fair for women.

To cater to women who need to balance household responsibilities with work, the CDC's holistic job fair, "In Her Shoes", will offer women more than 500 full-time, part-time and flexi-hours jobs. Another first during the fair is a "kid drop-off area", where mothers can leave their children for three hours as they search for a suitable job.

13 employers from the retail, hospitality, spa and recreation sector among others will be participating in the job fair. The various jobs on offer include customer service assistants, sales consultants, cashiers, surveyors, spa therapists, nutritionist and gym floor trainers.

Also on offer is a package that comprises information on Centre-based Financial Assistance Scheme for Childcare (CFAC), a list of childcare and eldercare centres available in the district, Training in Employability Skills System (ESS), financial budgeting talks and grooming workshops ?and will help women get back into the workforce.

Ms Irene Ng, MP for Tampines GRC, a champion for expanding employment choices for women, has worked with the North East CDC to promote a comprehensive package to help women get back into the workforce.? The package will provide employment and training opportunities and create awareness among unemployed women about the useful resources available to help them return to work.

The job fair will be held tomorrow at Tampines North CC, from 10am - 4pm.
