STORMTROOPERS IN ATTENDANCE
On May 18 this year, lawyers Usha Chandradas, 27, and Adrian Ang, 29, walked down the aisle to the music from Star Wars - the groom's favourite movie.
Lining the aisle were members of the 501st Legion, the Singapore chapter of an international fan organisation devoted to the movie franchise. They dressed up in costumes which were screen-accurate replicas of those worn by the Stormtroopers.
The movie that made Harrison Ford the best loved space cowboy also played a part earlier at the couple's Registry of Marriages ceremony: The wedding cake was topped with Star Wars characters Princess Leia and Han Solo. The latter had a shackle around his neck. Even Darth Vader would have been amused.
Venue: The Ritz-Carlton, Millenia Singapore
Total cost: $150,000
Number of guests: 700
Highlights: The Stormtroopers who lined our wedding aisle, the chance to catch up with friends from overseas who flew in specially for our wedding and seeing the happy faces of family members.
Low points: None at all. We had a great time and our planners made sure everything ran smoothly.
Best wedding gift: Each other's lifelong commitment and the presence of all our close friends and family.
Most memorable moment: When we screened a surprise slideshow of our parents' wedding and courtship photographs.
It was nice to be able to do something fun for them too.

FILM STARS OF THE DAY
When human resource manager Sharin Teo, 32, and managing director Joval Gan, 33, wed on Dec 8, 2006, the movie buffs decided they would be film stars for a day.
Invitations featured a poster of the couple as the lead characters of Sleepless In Swissotel, a spoof of the movie Sleepless In Seattle.
Venue: Swissotel The Stamford
Total cost: $40,000
Number of guests: 380
Highlights: Mingling at the cocktail area which looked like the entrance of a cinema. Before the march-in into the 'theatre' for dinner, a movie trailer was shown, featuring scenes from Ghost, Pretty Woman and Sleepless In Seattle, of course.
Low points: We couldn't really stop to appreciate what was going on.
Best wedding gift: One of the most memorable gifts was from a business partner who had flown in from overseas and forgot to carry some cash with him.
So he took his credit card to the hotel, cashed out $1,000 and gave it to us in a red packet. The hongbao was too small and money was spilling out.
Most memorable moment: When guests came up to us asking for more entertainment at the end of the evening. They enjoyed themselves so much they didn't want to leave.

BALI HIGH
They had a regular white wedding in Singapore on May10 this year, but managing director Tjin Lee, 34, and risk analyst John Lim, 28, were already on a Bali high - they had tied the knot the week before on the Indonesian island.
Their romantic idyll consisted of getting hitched in the Conrad resort's Infinity Chapel, which is a glass pyramid built on a pool with a view of the open sea.
They also flew in friend and local jazz singer Dawn Ho to perform at the wedding.
Venue: Conrad Bali Resort & Spa's Infinity Chapel
Total cost: US$30,000 (S$41,000)
Number of guests: 80
Highlights: There were too many.
Low points: Being accustomed to Singapore's pace and level of efficiency, it was a little stressful at times. We had to remind ourselves that we were in Bali and couldn't micro-manage every small detail.
Best wedding gift: A photo album with photos shot by our friend, Joel Lim. He and his wife, Celine, compiled all our special moments in Bali.
It's amazing to look back and see how much fun everyone was having.
Most memorable moment: Walking into the chapel and watching family and friends enjoying themselves. The reunion of loved ones from all over the world was unforgettable.
