It's the year's biggest club event and it's on an island beach. But that doesn't mean your only wardrobe options are bikinis or board shorts.
For the uninitiated, ZoukOut, the annual dance party now in its seventh year, will be held on Sentosa's Siloso Beach on Dec 8 from 8pm to 8am.
You'd think that there would be no sartorial crimes at a beach party, but fashion faux pas spotted in previous years have included men moving stiffly in tuxedo suits and women stumbling along the sandy coast in stiletto heels.
Zouk's fashionable marketing manager Tracy Phillips, who has attended ZoukOut in various get-ups from a long white peasant skirt to a multi-colour striped minidress, advises: 'ZoukOut is a 12-hour outdoor party and we'd like people to be there from start to finish. So make sure you're dressed comfortably to last the whole shebang.'
She adds: 'Bikinis are certainly welcome because there will be a waterslide.'
To prevent wardrobe malfunctions while grooving and bopping along with more than 20,000 other revellers to the sounds of DJs Armin Van Buuren and Steve Aoki, fashion stylists suggest wearing nipple tape under your itsy-bitsy triangle tops.
For added cover-ups, freelance fashion stylist Jerome Awasthi advises: 'A simple tunic top over your bikini is always nice. Or you can opt for board shorts to cover your bottom. If you have it, flaunt it; otherwise, things are better left to the imagination.'
This year's event also has a surrealist theme so you are encouraged to gear up for the wonderful, the weird and everything in between.
Says Phillips: 'Club culture has always been based on dressing up and embracing wacky clubbing costumes. Germany's annual Love Parade is an example, so we welcome the freaks at ZoukOut too.'
Since the 16-year-old clubbing stalwart Zouk has revealed that this might be the event's swansong at the seafront venue, we urge you to make it one to remember.
Urban shows you how.

A sheer tunic over a bikini is a tried-and- tested way of glamming it up for the beach. But it's the accessories that will make you stand out from the rest - think a silver clutch for the essential lip gloss and an equally eye-catching statement necklace.

Wear a bikini top to flaunt your assets by all means, but remember, you're not actually there to swim. Jazz up the look with a simple miniskirt that matches your top. An ensemble of slim-cut bermudas and a sleeveless white shirt is always perfect for a beach party.
