4. Tea with style

» When you're already spending top dollar on specialty teas, what better way to serve them in style than with Georg Jensen's tribute to afternoon snacking - the Helena tea service, crafted in stainless steel and porcelain. This collaboration with designer Helena Rohner - one of Spain's best-known jewellery designers - produced a tea service that pays tribute to Georg Jensen's fluid organic design aesthetic. The 1.3-litre teapot is priced at $360, with the full set costing $680. Available at Georg Jensen outlets including Paragon.

5. Bath time is luxe time

» You'll never want to leave your bathroom if your best friend gave you a set of these D Porthault terry towels, made by the same man who has created custom printed and embroidered linens for the White House, Elysee Palace and Buckingham Palace. Daniel Porthault opened a small lingerie boutique in Paris in the 1920s, but expanded his product range to include bedsheets inspired by Impressionist art. He went on to table linen as well as the first printed terry towels in the world. So if you want to be in the same league as Charles De Gaulle, Winston Churchill or Audrey Hepburn, $90 for a Coeurs Blue face towel and up to $845 for a Les Plumes bath towel is a small price to pay. Available at Fabulous Linens in Palais Renaissance. Tel: 6333-8183.

6. Chairs from Outer Space

» Imagine going to someone's home looking for a place to sit and wondering whether this chair is meant for sitting or for projecting you skywards to planet Urk. Created by Thai designer Paiwate Wangbon, this Sputnik Hyacinth is made from handmade red, natural and black hyacinth rope coiled into a fibreglass structure. Put it beside your Damien Hirst fossilised animal part artwork and you've got a cosy reading corner. Available at Clique at the Cathay for $1,900.

7. First-class travel

» So your best pal has snagged a couple of tickets for SIA's new A380 First Class suites. How best to show that you have really arrived than with this set of wheels from Bottega Veneta? Don't stop at one. Get the whole leather triumvirate comprising the Intrecciato VN Trolley, Intrecciato VN Carry On Bag and Intrecciato Trolley. Price: $8,260, $4,630, $7,650 respectively. Available at its Paragon store.

8. Destination: Oblivion

» Trust OSIM to always find yet another body part, real or imagined, to massage and pamper. Its latest contraption is the uSpace, which looks like the kind of airplane seat an anti-social business traveller would love. Sit in it and you're literally cocooned from the rest of the world, ready to be enthralled by a multi-sensory experience through light, sound and massage therapy. Be massaged while therapeutic music plays that will calm your senses and reduce stress. At the same time, different coloured lights can be switched on to accentuate the calming experience. Check out this $7,800 device at selected OSIM outlets like VivoCity and Plaza Singapura.

9. Dial-a-diamond

» Vertu's new signature diamond handsets contain only "non-conflict" diamonds, individually inlaid by hand. Four versions make up this new signature collection, featuring yellow, white, black and pink diamonds, and gold pink sapphires. There are only 33 handsets worldwide for the Vertu yellow-and-white diamond phone (right), with a total of 2.4 carat yellow and 4.4 carat white brilliant cut diamonds set into the bezel, middle row key and edges of the handset. Fragile and rare black diamonds light up the black and white handset, while there are at least 389 stones in the Vertu Signature Rose Gold Pink Sapphire handset. Who needs jewellery when you can multi-task with this? Price: $85,000 upwards. Available at Vertu in Paragon.
