Hit-and-run accident appeal

A reader got into a hit-and-run accident on the morning of Aug 26.

The reader was travelling along Woodlands Road toward Ten Mile Junction when the accident happened, Stomp reported.

The reader told Stomp that a "cream-coloured car" had hit her car from behind.

"Due to the impact, my car (SGA4768B) lost control, swerved into the centre divider and onto the kerb, hit a tree and went down the drain," said the reader.

The car finally ended up on the opposite side of the road.

The reader said: "Luckily the rear wheel was stuck in the drain so my car did not go any further along the opposite road."

She recounted: "With so many cars travelling on that road I would have been killed."

"I am looking for witnesses who are able to provide me with the details of the cream-coloured car plate number."

However, there were several other readers who seem to dispute her account of the accident.

One reader singled out the lack of damage to the bonnet despite the car hitting a tree.

Another reader pointed out that damage could only be seen on the left rear of the car, which might be a result of one party changing lanes without checking the blind spot.
