Car catches fire on expressway

THIS car caught fire along Tampines Expressway (TPE) on Tuesday evening.

A reader of the citizen journalism website, Stomp, who caught sight of it while driving along the TPE on the way home, said yesterday: "I saw dark smoke rising into the sky from a distance before reaching the scene... I wonder how the vehicle caught fire."

The Singapore Civil Defence Force said that its officers extinguished the fire within 20 minutes and no one was hurt.

The cause of the fire is not known.
