Where's my bus? SBS info not accurate

I would like to highlight a bad experience I had using a mobile service linked to SBS Transit.

On 3 Aug at 12.30pm, I used SBS Transit's Iris (Intelligent Route Information System) service to find out the arrival time for bus number 581.

I sent an SMS message to Iris and it sent back the information, showing that the bus would arrive in 28 minutes, which would be 1pm.

I reached the bus stop at 12.50pm.

At 1.10pm, there was still no sight of the bus.

So I sent another SMS.

It showed that 581 would arrive in eight minutes, which would be around 1.18pm.

But I waited until 1.35pm and there was still no sight of the bus.

Misled by the system twice, I gave up and took the MRT instead.

It was really an unpleasant and disappointing experience.

I cannot believe the bus company is asking for a price hike when its service cannot be trusted.

Is it fair to commuters?
