Act on speeding problem in Sengkang

I Would like to highlight to road users a dangerous area in the vicinity of Sengkang Eastway extension
towards Fernvale Estate.

Last Saturday, while my husband was driving across the junction of Sengkang Eastway and Anchorvale Link towards Anchorvale Drive, a car dashed through the traffic lights in front of us, even though the light was red for Sengkang Eastway and green for Anchorvale Link.

In another incident last Sunday evening, while my husband and I were taking a stroll in the direction of the new Anchorvale Community Club, we saw another vehicle speeding on the same road.

Later that same evening, while in our flat- which is about 200m from the junction - I could still hear vehicles speeding on that road.

I hope the Traffic Police will take prompt action and install speed cameras in the area mentioned as well as other roads with low levels of traffic, where drivers are tempted to speed.

Fines and demerit points will not discourage dangerous drivers. Their licences should be suspended for an extended
period of time or a jail term imposed to ensure that the message sinks in.
