Undergrad to flag off race

Undergraduate Low Shu Min, 23, will be leading the SingTel Grid Girls out at the SingTel Singapore Grand Prix on Sunday.

The psychology major at the National University of Singapore earned the honour after beating 19 other contestants to win this year's Grid Girl Finals.

Student Constance Lau, 18, and model Cordelia Low, 20, finished second and third respectively. More than 300 women had auditioned for this year's edition.

Shu Min was crowned the winner after a pageant last night at Caldecott Hill attended by about 800 people.

Besides being handed the responsibility of symbolically flagging off the only night race on the Formula One calendar, she also received a S$20,000 cash prize.
