Rain a key factor for F1
Wed, Sep 24, 2008
The Straits Times

WITH forecasters predicting a 50 per cent chance of rain for Sunday's SingTel Singapore Grand Prix, weather may turn out to be one of the race's biggest deciding factors.

Vijay Mallya, chairman of the Force India team, said: 'I have been a resident of Singapore for the past 25 years, and one thing I can tell you is that it rains every night. You don't have to pray for rain, it just comes.'

A wet track will create slippery conditions for the drivers on a circuit lined with metal barriers.
