Fast lane: 18,000km in 55 days

THREE Singaporeans will attempt to cover 18,000km in 55 days. Driving a2.5-litre diesel Land Rover Defender and 2.7-litre petrol Toyota Prado, theywill set off from London on July 8 and make it here by Aug 30.

IT professional Larry Leong, 39, retiree John Ewing Chow, 64, and oil industryexecutive Aaron Foo, 55, will make the epic overland journey that will takethem across Europe and Asia before heading back home. They are part of a12-vehicle convoy that will attempt this odyssey.

There are available seats at US$200 (S$304) per day for those who want to jointhem. Fuel cost will have to be divided separately. Go to www.world-explorer.net for more information.
