Fastlane: Impressive Impreza

SUBARU's new Impreza range won't be available till October. But agent MotorImage held a preview of the new cars on Tuesday. And the emphasis is on the word new.

The latest Impreza looks nothing like the current car. Even the dorky Subaru grille is gone. The styling is decidedly European, with a hint of Honda Civic Type R.

Non-WRX fans can pick either the 1.5-litre or 2-litre models, while WRX fans will have the choice of a 2-litre automatic or a 2.5-litre manual, both turbocharged.

Prices start from $61,888 to $95,888. Sedan versions could come as early as next year.
