>THE number of speeding offences detected on the Kallang-Paya Lebar Expressway has plunged since its opening, the Traffic Police said. In the six months up to end-April, an average of 245 speeding offences were recorded a week in the KPE tunnels - down from around 3,400 in the first couple of weeks after they opened last October. Observers reckon motorists are now more aware of the laser speed cameras used to enforce the 70kmh speed limit in the KPE tunnels. The KPE will be fully open by September.
