BUTTERWORTH, MALAYSIA: An armoured car may be good at stopping bullets from hitting those inside but not prevent them from getting hurt in an accident.
In an accident at the 136th kilometre of the North-South Expressway near Sebrang Jaya yesterday morning, eight soldiers in an armoured car were injured when it slammed into a car.
Central Seberang Prai acting OCPD Supt Mohan Singh said the soldiers were injured in the impact and taken to the Seberang Jaya hospital for treatment when the accident occurred at 10.50am.
"Seven of them received outpatient treatments for minor cuts while another soldier was warded for a fractured leg."
He said the driver of the car escaped unharmed while his car boot was partially damaged.
