32 hurt in SBS Transit, tour bus collision

An SBS Transit bus and a tour bus were involved in a dramatic crash along Selegie Road at 10.30am this morning. Both were carrying passengers when the accident occurred.

"Lots of injuries were seen," an eyewitness told The Straits Times Online Mobile Print (Stomp).

An eyewitness told Stomp, "The SBS bus driver was seen driving out of the bus lane and the tour bus hit the rear of the SBS bus right after."

"Ambulances and fire engines came within five minutes."

"From a distance, I saw many people with injuries," the eyewitness said. Some victims were stretchered into a number of ambulances nearby."

The Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) told Stomp it received a call about the accident at 10.09am about a collision between an SBS Transit double decker bus and a private tour bus.

32 people were hurt and subsequently conveyed to Tan Tock Seng Hospital, Alexandra Hospital and Singapore General Hospital.

Investigations are ongoing.
