Four new Alfas arrive

By Anthony Lim

Sime Darby Auto ConneXion launched four new Alfa Romeo models into the Malaysian market this month.

The arrival of the 159 sports sedan, the latest high-specification GT coupe, the Brera coupe and the Spider cabriolet, and the quartet is definitely a fair bit in the way of introduction.

The Giorgetto Giugiaro-designed 159 sports sedan, and the long-awaited sedan is powered by a 185bhp 2.2l JTS (uniJet Thrust System) block mated to a 6-speed Selespeed automatic manual gearbox. It rolls in at RM188,888 (excluding registration, road tax and insurance).

The Brera.

As for the GT coupe, this is the Blackline high-spec version equipped with a 165bhp 2.0l JTS engine and 5-speed Selespeed automatic manual gearbox, and the price for the Bertone-designed beauty is RM218,888.

Meanwhile, the Brera coupe, which also gets the 2.2l JTS pot, is priced at RM308,888. Finally, there's the flagship of the new line-up locally, the new Spider cabriolet.

The heir to the legendary Giuletta Spider and Duetto, priced at a mere RM318,888, also runs with the 2.2l JTS four-cylinder and a 6-speed Selespeed transmission, the latter also to be found on the Brera.

A further piece of news is that the two-door MiTo hatch is slated to arrive in the second half of the year.

In conjunction with the introduction of the four models, Auto ConneXion also launched its new 3S centre for the marque in Petaling Jaya.

The quartet strike up a pose.

And to celebrate it all, the company has introduced an aftersales and service campaign with discounts of up to 70 per cent on selected genuine Alfa parts. Alfa owners can also bring in their vehicles for a free 25-point safety check and purchase lifestyle merchandises and recommended lubricants at special discounts.

What's more, with a minimum spend of RM300, customers are entitled to a free new genuine Alfa emblem worth RM400 to replace the faded or discoloured ones on their cars. The offer is valid for a limited time only, while stocks last.

As for the new arrivals, nothing better than getting up close and personal with them, and you can do so - and do the test drive bit too - at the outlet, which is still located at 19, Jln 13/2, daily from 9am-5pm.
