Commuters can expect better bus frequencies and shorter waiting times.
Buses will now be scheduled to depart from bus interchanges and terminals more frequently during weekday peak periods.
Since early this year, SBS Transit Ltd and SMRT Buses Ltd have added a total of 116 buses and more than 260 bus-trips during the morning and evening peak periods.

Mr Gan Juay Kiat, Executive Director, SBS Transit Ltd said, "This year alone, we are investing in 400 new buses at a cost of $147 million, with plans for more new buses in the coming year.
"At the same time, we have also been actively recruiting more Bus Captains. Over the past two months, some 200 Bus Captains have been recruited and deployed for duty."
Ms Kang Huey Ling, Vice President, SMRT Buses Ltd said, "SMRT continues to provide our customers with reliable and convenient bus services, tailoring them to commuters' demand. We have spent some $25 million last year on new buses, and will be purchasing another 66 new buses to add to our fleet."
In addition, Ms Kang also expressed appreciation to the Land Transport Authority to implement various measures like bus lanes and the Mandatory Give Way to Buses Scheme, which have made travel on public buses smoother.
