Audi A7 voted best car in Singapore by AsiaOne readers

SINGAPORE - The Audi A7 Sportback has been voted as the best car in 2011 by readers of the online news and lifestyle portal AsiaOne.

The A7 Sportback topped over 20 nominees in the best car category in the AsiaOne People's Choice Awards, now in its fourth year.

BMW's sport-utility vehicle (SUV) X3 and Mercedes-Benz SLK convertible were also popular with AsiaOne readers. Both were voted for the Top 3 People's Choice Awards in the best car category, trumping more than 20 other nominees.

NTUC Income and ComfortDelGro walked away with the awards for Singapore's top car insurer and best taxi company respectively. The two motoring and transport categories were new additions to the AsiaOne People's Choice Awards.

Winners were selected via an online voting process. Over 150,000 votes were collected, a 30 per cent increase from last year. There were over 200 nominees across the categories of consumer products and services.

The formal award ceremony was held yesterday at the Singapore Press Holdings news auditorium. About 160 guests attended the ceremony.
