Roadworks at Pasir Ris to improve traffic flow

A series of road improvement works will be carried out to help improve traffic conditions along Pasir Ris Drive 1.

Due to upcoming nearby residential developments, Pasir Ris Street 51 will be widened to dual-two lanes, and the junctions of Pasir Ris Street 51 and Pasir Ris Drive 1, as well as Pasir Ris Drive 8 and Pasir Ris Drive 1 will be improved.

Minister for Transport Lui Tuck Yew was replying Mempber of Parliament Zainal Sapari's concern on whether there are plans to enhance the road network in Pasir Ris given the increasing traffic congestion during peak periods.

Mr Lui said that the Land Transport Authority (LTA) is currently studying how to better improve the connectivity between Pasir Ris Town and the Tampines Expressway (TPE).

At the moment, residents in the area have four options to connect to TPE - at Loyang Avenue, Pasir Ris Drive 8, Elias Road and Pasir Ris Drive 12.
