A 55-year-old man in China built himself a wind-powered car using 10,000 Yuan (S$2,000). In just three months Tan Zhenping created the electric vehicle that can travel up to 140km per charge.
According to online reports the fan attached to the front of the car generates electricity when the car travels at higher speeds. This electricity, together with that from the generator installed at the back of the car, powers the small blue coloured automobile.
Netizens believe his impressive skills stem from his passion for automobiles he developed when he was very young.
In a video uploaded onto Chinese video website Youku, the farmer from Beijing shows off his product. He gives readers a virtual tour proudly showcasing even the smallest details to his audience.
The video made Youku's most popular list garnering 770,000 views and 2,600 comments within a day of being uploaded.
