COI on train disruptions get closing submissions

*Above: These passengers at Bishan MRT station were among the some 1,400 passengers who were delayed on their morning commute after a 40-minute breakdown on the Circle Line last December.

The Committee of Inquiry (COI) into last December's train disruptions has received the closing submissions from the relevant counsels.

The committee is now preparing the report on its findings and recommendations, reported Channel NewsAsia.

The report will be submitted to the Minister for Transport.

The closing submissions come after a six-week public inquiry that saw 116 witnesses giving evidence.

Witnesses included senior management staff from the Land Transport Authority and from train operator SMRT.
