Nissan Juke Nismo unveiled at Le Mans

LE MANS - The Nissan Juke Nismo, the performance version of the brand's crossover, is being presented in its worldwide debut at the special exhibition organised by Nissan on the sidelines of the Le Mans 24 hour this weekend.

This new model brings together Nismo motorsports technology, developed by Nissan's competition and performance division in Japan, with the current design of the Nissan Juke.

Of note is unique new aerodynamic bodywork and 18-inch alloy wheels which are designed to enhance the vehicle's on-road performance. The Juke Nismo also features a turbocharged 1.6 L direct-injected engine.

The interior features reworked steering column, pedals, gauges, gear shift and door lining, emphasizing the sporty feel. Special Nismo sports seats in leather add to the overall competition design.

The Juke Nismo will be available in Europe starting in January 2013 and the US and Japan later in the year.

Nissan will provide further technical spcifications on the model closer to its retail release date.

The model is on display from June 13-17.
