Four killed in 3-vehicle pile-up

KUANTAN HORROR CRASH - Five friends were on their way to Kuantan from Terengganu in a Proton Wira car on Saturday night when they met with a horrific accident that left four dead.

At 11.15pm, the car crashed into the right side of an iron-ore laden lorry that was coming out of a side road at the 18km mark of the Kuantan bypass road.

Moments later, another car, a Honda, slammed into the Proton's rear, reported The Malay Mail. Three of those in the Proton - Mr Mohd Shahidan Shaari, 26, Mr Mohd Shahafiz Othman, 22, and MrMohd Taufik Abdul Rahman, 20 - were killed on the spot.

The other two were critically injured and taken to Tengku Ampuan Afzan Hospital, where Mr Ahmad Nazrin Hafizi Abdul Latif, 19, died at 6am, reported the New Straits Times.

He was Mr Taufik's cousin.
